In 1971 he graduated an Oil Academy of Azerbaijan.
From 1971 till now he works in “Physics and Technics of high voltage” laboratory at the Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan NAS.
In 1978 for cycle of short-circuit current and overvoltage limiting works he was awarded by State Prize of Azerbaijan.
In 1980 he defended a PhD thesis.
From 1980 he is a senior scientific officer and manages the “Development and research of overvoltade limiting methods in high voltage power grid” group.
From 1990 he is professor of Azerbaijan State Oil Academy.
In 1993 he defended a Doctoral thesis by theme: “Electric power plants, circuits, electric systems and theirs operation”
From 1998 to 2002 he was a head of “Physics and Technics of high voltage” laboratory.
From 2002 he is a director of the Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan NAS.
Gashimov A.M is an author of many articles by development of the numerical analysis methods of current-limiting devices efficiency and attendant overvoltage and creation of effective technical devices on its base.
He is a participant of more than 20 Conferences and Seminars by electric systems, physics and technics of high voltage, electric power plants and systems.
