ABSTRACT

In the present work, copper aluminate (CuAl2O4) nanoparticles were synthesised by sonochemical method. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the synthesised crystals are of cubic spinel structure. The analysis confirmed the presence of γ -Al2O3 phase in the synthesized product. An increase in the concentration of Cu ions relative to Al ions in the solution changes the color of the powder. This is associated with the change in the ratio of CuAl2O4 crystallites to γ-Al2O3 crystallites. The size of spinel crystallites were found to be 7-10 nm in size
