ABSTRACT The thermopower of electrons in a semiconductor quantum well with a modified Pöschl-Teller potential is calculated. The dependences of the thermopower on the surface electron density and on the temperature in the GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs quantum well are investigated. It is shown that at large values of the surface electron density, the thermopower linearly depends on temperature, and at relatively low densities it grows weakly with increasing temperature.
