Obtaining the CaSiO3:Eu crystal and photoluminescence properties

ABSTRACT

In the presented article, the photoluminescence properties of CaSiO3:Eu crystal were studied in a (20K-300K) temperature range and by excitation with a 325nm wavelength source. The study of the spectra in the specified temperature interval shows that the intensity of luminescence decreases with the increase of temperature. Eu ion shows itself in the cyrstal in the form of variable valence, i.e. Eu2+ and Eu3+. It has been established that photoluminescence occurs due to intracentric transitions of Eu2+ and Eu3+ ions.
