ABSTRACT
Influence of silver nanorods on mesogenic properties of nematic liquid crystal 4- cyano-40-pentylbiphenyl (5CB) is investigated by the methods of differential scanning
calorimeter, polarization microscopy, and dielectric spectroscopy. It is shown that the temperature of the nematic-isotropic transition increases. In this case, there is a
decrease in enthalpy and entropy of the phase transition at presence of silver nanorods.
